Holiday Inn & Suites Makati

One sunny day, and we're going to stay for two days and a night at Holiday Inn & Suites Makati to have a simple merriment for our wedding anniversary.

We took a cab from Sampaloc and cost us 180 php to go to Makati. We arrived at the hotel around 1:30pm and saw a big green bear outside the hotel.

We received a warm welcome from the staff of the hotel at the ground floor. Then, we were ushered to go to the lobby area for us to check-in. At the reception area, we were invited to have an IHG reward card and able to check-in at 9th floor, that is, with a room of twin beds. I ask the helpdesk if they can assist us to transfer to a king size bed, but they weren't able to provide in the same floor because it is available in a different floor which is a smoking area. We decided not to transfer and choose the non-smoking area.

We're hungry and able to go out the hotel to buy  some food, wherein this hotel is located beside Glorietta 2 mall. Luckily we were able to roam around the mall and buy some snacks for the three of us. Due to my situation as an expectant mom, we didn't walk much at the mall and ended to find a mini play and ride for children near the hotel mall entrance. That night, we also conveniently shop at Landmark for our needs and bought our dinner at the food court.

We were able to sleep at a cozy night in the hotel room. They have unique pillows that are in two kinds, one is firm and one is soft. Their bathroom is nice, although they don't have bath tub.

The next day, we ate at their restaurant located at the lobby level. The food were delicious, and what I like most in their main dishes from the breakfast buffet  is the Beef Picadillo. We ate what is sufficient for us. Mostly, pancake and cereals for our son. After eating, we visited the swimming pool at the rooftop and our son enjoyed it.

First time in School

It's our son's first time to attend in school as nursery 1. Of course, as a parent, we are more excited to see our child learning new things and socializing with other kids. That would help him explore outside home.

Here's a day to day experience he had for his first week.

Day 1 - Arrived early at school happy and kissed Mama. After 1 and half hour, class dismissed and Hasan came running to me almost in tears saying "Mommy, ingay ng mga bata…".  Its because a lot of kids where crying.

Day 2 - Arrived early at school happy and kissed Mama. After 30 minutes, Hasan cried having a separation anxiety calling me. We take a break at the school mini playground. After a while, we went back and he's sitting in the chair holding my hand. Behave before going home, it ended having a star in his hand.

Day 3 -  Arrived early at school happy and kissed Mama, and fist bump with Daddy. Looks good for today. Happy after school with a clay gave by the teacher.

Day 4 -  Arrived early at school happy and kissed Mama, and fist bump with Daddy. But suddenly, he wants Mama inside the nursery room. The teacher let me stayed there at the back until class ended. Happy after school with a star in his hand.

Day 5 - Arrived early at school happy and kissed Mama. He still wants Mama inside the nursery room. Happy after school with a star in his hand.

Thank you God for this wonderful week. And in God-willng, for the weeks to come. And as days past by us, we noticed a lot of improvements he had like his communication skills and being more active.

Relaxing at Ace Hotel and Suites

My son just reached his 4th year this May 2014. And reaching this is another extra milestone in his journey in life.

Let's take a look on how he took his mark on this.

  • He learn to muster his potty trainer which at first he is quite afraid of this change.
  • He learns to tell us when he is going to pee then, even though, he have diapers. Which eventually, he  doesn't have to wear it.
  • He knows how to sing "Twinkle twinkle" in full song, plus with an Indian twist and instrumental portion.
  • He plays a lot and he also learns to put back his toys.
  • He have this look asking for permission if he can go for what he is thinking.
  • He learns how to use spoon and fork for eating with his favorite rice with fish or noodles.
  • He loves to watch cartoons and blue planet (BBC) , and if he really like it, he would play it back again and again.

I thank God for giving him these such learning and we look forward for another year of blessings.
He'll be going to school soon this June 2014.

Another thing, he had his birthday together with "A Mother's Day" occasion in Ace Hotel and Suites. This hotel is located at United Street, Pasig, Metro Manila, Philippines.

Since I have reserved this with an Ace VIP Card, we get the privilege of having the additional 1 night stay at the hotel.
The hotel would ask for a 2,000 php each night for the deposit fee, but this is refundable.
Our reservation for one night includes breakfast buffet and two complimentary adult tickets for water spa, with dinner buffet for Mother's day. We have to pay the additional kiddie ticket about 250 php.

The hotel have two buffet place, which is the Ace Coffee Lounge and the Sky Garden buffet.
The Ace Coffee Lounge located at the ground floor have the ambiance of overlooking the water spa, while the Sky Garden located at the 8th floor have a beautiful garden and sightseeing of the Ortigas Business district and surroundings of Pasig.

They also have mini stores at the ground floor of the building like ShareTea, 7-11, Figaro, Persia Grill and lots more. The hotel also have KTV at the 2nd floor for the ones who are fond of singing and music.
